Follow these instructions after you have purchased JMP software from SLIC. If you have not purchased your software yet, visit the JMP article for purchasing instructions.

There are 2 zipped files involved:
The zipped file attached to your confirmation email contains the license files (you License files: Find the Digital File Download below the shipping information in your order confirmation email. This download contains the JMP license files. You only need the file for your operating system and the version of JMP you want).
Program installation files: The zipped file found at slic-jmp.wvu.edu contains contains the actual program installation.

Download the zipped file attached to the confirmation email you received from SLIC (this contains the license files). It is important to download the license files BEFORE installing the program. If you install the program before downloading the license files, you will receive an error and will need to request a .PER file.
When you are done downloading the zip folder, save or drag the zip folder onto your computer’s desktop. (You can also find the zip folder in your Downloads folder. Go to your Start button and type downloads in the search bar).
After the file downloads, right-click the file and select Extract All.
Click Extract. (Remember this location; you’ll need these files shortly.)
Go to the link provided in the confirmation email you received from SLIC and select the link that corresponds with the desired JMP version and your operating system: slic-jmp.wvu.edu.
When prompted, log in using your WVU Login credentials.
Click Save.
When you are done downloading the zip folder, save or drag the zip folder onto your computer’s desktop. (You can also find the zip folder in your Downloads folder. Go to your Start button and type downloads in the search bar.)
After the file downloads, go to the location where you saved the file, right-click on the file, and click Extract All.
Click Extract. (Remember this location.)
When the files are finished extracting, double-click on the setup.exe file.
The file may appear as Setup with the JMP logo beside it.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Verify selections, and then click Next.
Click Install.
Let it run and finish setting up. Then click Finish.
Note: If this is your first time installing JMP, you will need to specify the location of the current license file. (See below)
Find the JMP file located on your computer Desktop. Double-click the application to open JMP.
Click Open License.
When prompted, navigate to the license files from step 3, and double-click on the correct license file based on the table included in the confirmation email from SLIC.
Note: If the JMP license files were not properly downloaded, the application might not accept a .txt file. It will require a .PER file instead. If this happens, request a .PER file by filling out a software assistance request using the SLIC Software Request Form.
JMP will use this license file (SID file) to create a JMP.PER file and then prompt you to select a location to save the file. Click Save.
Select Wait to Register.
Click Ok.
