Keeper is a password management tool [we’ll include a migration timeline for replacing LastPass and sync this section with Comms]

Set up Keeper on your device

Follow Keeper’s Web Vault and Desktop App instructions.

Data guidelines

Do we need to include this? and can be accessed through a desktop client or online through the Web Vault.

  • Web Vault: Go to the Web Vault log in page and sign in using your email address. You will be redirected to enter your WVU Login credentials and prompted to authenticate with Duo.

  • Desktop client: Download the Keeper desktop client. When you first log in, the client will prompt to verify your machine. You can use a Keeper push, which sends the approval to your Web Vault.
During setup, you can skip the beginning prompts, including the prompt for setting up two-factor authentication. Duo two-factor authentication is already applied to your Keeper account since it uses WVU Login credentials.

Request a Keeper account

Supervisors may request Keeper accounts for their employees. Submit a request or contact the ITS Service Desk.

Migrate credentials from LastPass to Keeper

Most credentials stored in LastPass will be automatically migrated to Keeper; however, some personal or non-shared credentials may not be included.

If you are missing credentials in Keeper after the migration, follow the LastPass Automated Transfer instructions on Keeper’s Import from LastPass page.
