To configure your Ubuntu computer to connect to WVU.Encrypted, follow the steps below.

  1. Right click on the wireless icon in the top right corner of the desktop.

  2. From the drop-down menu, click edit connections.

  3. In the Network Connections window, click Add.

  4. Choose Wi-Fi as the connection type. Click Create.

  5. From the Wi-Fi tab, change the Connection name and SSID to WVU.Encrypted.

  6. Click on the Wi-Fi Security tab and change the following:

    • Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise

    • Domain: “wvu.edu” Note: Your version may not require this field."

    • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)

    • CA certificate: DigiCert

    • Global

...

    • Root

...

    • G2

      • To get to the certificate, click Other LocationsComputer and search for etc/ssl/certs. Open the ssl folder. 

        Note: If you do not have the DigiCert Global Root

      • G2 certificate listed, do a sudo apt-get install ca-certificates to get the latest certificate package. Enter the root or user password for your device.

    • Username and Password: Enter your Login credentials

  1. Click Save.

  2. Your device is now configured for WVU.Encrypted.
