Teaching Assistants Cannot Grade Turnitin Assignments
Issue:
When a Turnitin assignment link is no longer available to students, Teaching Assistants (TA) are not able to grade it. The TA will get an “Access Denied” error after clicking on the unavailable Turnitin assignment. There are two workarounds for this issue.
Resolution:
The instructor can create an adaptive release, making the assignment available only to the TA.
Create an Advanced Adaptive Release for TA
Click the drop-down contextual menu next to the Turnitin assignment.
Select the “Edit” option.
Make sure the “Visible to Students” option is set to Yes.
Make sure the “Display Until” option is unchecked.
Select the “Adaptive Release: Advanced” option.
Click the drop-down contextual menu next to the LTI rule.
Select “Edit Criteria”
Select the box for the “Date” criteria and click the “Delete” button.
Click the “Create Criteria” button.
Select the “Membership” option.
Type the TA’s username.
Click Submit.
Now the students cannot see the Turnitin assignment, but the TA and instructor can still access it.
