WVU BOG Rule 1.6 requires that Responsible Employees report all incidents of Prohibited Conduct to the WVU Title IX Coordinator. Responsible Employees are those individuals at WVU who hold a leadership or supervisory position or have significant responsibility for the welfare of students or employees. Responsible Employees can be a faculty member, coach, Resident Assistant or senior administrators within a college, school, or student program. However, all WVU employees who are aware of Prohibited Conduct are encouraged to report such conduct here: https://wvu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0lKdeIGf4QeEUxT .
The Office of Equity Assurance and the legal system work independently but in coordination. The standards for determining a violation of criminal law are different than the standard in WVU’s grievance procedures. Neither the results of a criminal investigation nor the decision of law enforcement on whether to investigate determines whether a violation of the University’s policy has occurred
