If you can’t open Word documents (particularly .docx files) in eCampus, your browser may be set to open the files in the browser by default. This happens most commonly in Windows Microsoft Edge. To resolve this issue, try the following:

In the Edge browser, open the Settings menu (the three dots at the top right corner of the page).

Follow these steps if you can’t open Office documents in eCampus while using Microsoft Edge.

  1. Open Microsoft Edge settings (by clicking on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner of the browser).

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Downloads.

  4. Select the toggle switch to disable Open Office Files files in the Browser by turning it Off.
